Best GitHub-native record for an agent's signed pre-action decision receipt?

🏷️ Discussion Type Question 💬 Feature/Topic Area Other Discussion Details We are testing AUX, a public synthetic experiment in infrastructure for non-human users. Before an agent performs a consequential action, the service returns evidence signals and a signed decision receipt; altered results fail verification. Agent entry point: https://aux.prdictionedge.ai/agents Machine manifest: https://api.aux.prdictionedge.ai/.well-known/aux.json This is not production verification, and we are not clai

🏷️ Discussion Type Question 💬 Feature/Topic Area Verification Help & Guidance Hi everyone, I am a professor at a university and want to apply for GitHub Education, but my applications keep getting rejected. When I apply, I receive the following message: We need a little more proof to verify your academic status. What helps with verification? We can verify your application most easily when your proof includes your complete name, school name, and a current date. Faculty IDs, employment verific

GHCR large layer uploads fail with closed connection and SSLError

🏷️ Discussion Type Bug Body Uploading an existing Docker image to a private GHCR repository repeatedly fails while transferring a 1,003,299,004-byte layer. Observed behavior: Docker push fails with closed proxy/network connection errors. A host-native upload using certificate-verified TLS 1.2 and ChaCha20-Poly1305 also failed with SSLError, after approximately 189 seconds and a local progress mark of 256 MiB. The detailed SSL exception was not retained, so its exact cause is unknown. A similar

:wave:A Welcome to GitHub

I have a large amount of sensitive data i would like to just transfer somewhere it can be used and maintained.

Introduce yourself I'm just looking to transfer any files and the contents there of somewhere they can be used and maintained. It has come to my attention its pointless for me to continue. Id appreciate any feedback. I'm no coder and not a fan of copy paste so if it takes 20 lines of code to do it properly please explain what each line does. I have no Google account nor can I, I have also lost many other accounts and devices so signing into or verifying anything is out of the question. Links (op

Unauthenticated clone of a public repo intermittently returns 401 (prompts for Username) from CI workers

🏷️ Discussion Type Bug Body Our CI workers (Docker containers) clone the public repo MariaDB/server over HTTPS with no credentials configured. The clone fails at the negotiation step, not at the ref advertisement. This started to occur intermittently since ~ 11 CET 02.09.2026. Our CI workers are EU based. Even if it gets past the initial clone, recursively updating sub modules will eventually hit the same issue. Please let us know if the issue is known and if there are currently any workarounds

Academic affiliation application

🏷️ Discussion Type Question 💬 Feature/Topic Area Verification Help & Guidance Hi everyone, I submitted a picture of my most recent faculty appointment letter, but my application for academic affiliation was auto-rejected. The email listed a number of issues, but I don't think any of them were correctly applied to the letter I submitted. For example, the letter includes the school name in the body of the text (not just letterhead), it clearly specifies the faculty position, uses exactly the sam

Excessive CVE Assignment Backlog and Delay in GHSA Process

🏷️ Discussion Type Product Feedback 💬 Feature/Topic Area Other Discussion Details Although it is well documented by GitHub themselves in their security blog here, I need to provide feedback on how slow the CVE allocation has been for myself. I have been waiting over a month for a high severity CVE related to medical software and although an update is rolled out we can't publish the advisory due to the lack of that final validation. I have noticed similar discussions popping up in the following

Reusable workflows with skipped internal jobs cause dependents to be auto-skipped

Problem When a job depends on a reusable workflow via needs, GitHub evaluates the result by looking at individual jobs inside the reusable workflow rather than the reusable workflow as a whole. If any internal job is skipped (e.g. optional tests gated by an input flag), this non-success status leaks to the caller and auto-skips downstream jobs — even when the reusable workflow functionally succeeded. Reusable workflows are meant to be opaque units of work. Callers should not need to know or care

Create an advanced follow-up module for Copilot Spaces on Microsoft Learn

🏷️ Discussion Type Product Feedback 💬 Feature/Topic Area Copilot Workspace Body I completed the “Introdução aos Espaços do Copilot” module on Microsoft Learn (Portuguese) and would like to propose a follow-up module and a hands-on DevOps Space lab to make Copilot Spaces more practical for real-world Developer Tools and DevOps workflows. Context: The current module provides a solid introduction to Copilot Spaces, but it stops short of showing how Spaces can be applied end-to-end in production-

Rebased commits by the web interface aren't signed

Hi! First of all, I'm more than happy to rebase my branch on GitHub without switching, pulling and all the jazz. However, when I rebase my branch on the PR by clicking 'Update with rebase', my signed commits become unsigned, resulting in an 'Unverified' badge if the user is using the vigilant mode. IIRC GitHub signs the commit that has been created on the website by GitHub's key, and I was wondering if we could do the same for rebasing too.

OpenClaw Went Viral. Meet the Maintainers Building and Securing It. 🦞

OpenClaw began as an experiment and quickly grew into one of the fastest-growing open source projects in GitHub history. As contributions scaled, its maintainers had to rethink how they review code, build trust with contributors, manage AI-generated pull requests, and secure the project and its dependencies. In a new conversation, OpenClaw creator Peter Steinberger and maintainers share what they’ve learned about maintaining an open source project when contributions can arrive faster than people
